Text Box: The Microsoft .Net Compact Framework enables developers to quickly build and deploy enterprise mobile solutions with a level of effectiveness unprecedented in the mobile development space.
This session is intended for the developer who is now using or well-into learning the Compact Framework and is interested in adopting more effective ways to achieve code reuse, runtime performance, data persistence, data synchronization, communications, and large-scale deployment. Through coding walkthroughs and demos of real-world CF applications, participants will see the value in applying the design patterns, architectural strategies, and coding techniques presented in this session.

Text Box: Unit testing represents a very important trend in producing higher quality applications at lower cost. You’ll learn the distinction between unit testing and regression testing and how to address the two major problems that plague unit testing – how tedious they are to write, and managing scope. Declarative unit testing incorporates test definitions as part of each method’s source code so it becomes an accessible part of your application metadata. Test declarations can be any combination of explicit test declarations and implicit tests based on declared boundary definitions. It becomes even easier to integrate test-driven development because tests are easy to write as the first step in method creation. And if you use boundary declarations, you can also automate trace code creation. Both implicit and explicit test declarations generate code that integrates with test tools like NUnit, and lets you include testing information in your documentation. Declarative unit testing works alongside more complex handcrafted tests, and allow you to focus your energy where it’s needed – defining tests, writing your application code, and creating more complex handcrafted tests.
